The morning after

The cats have finally overcome the effects of the drugs. They started feeling better last night. We kept them locked in our room last night so that they wouldn't bother our dads while they slept. That means I had to put their water bowl and litterbox in the same bathroom (never a good idea). By morning Timothy had made another mess. This one is not entirely his fault though. His paws were still wet from his bath earlier. As a result, every time he goes in the litter box, the litter clings to his paws. Then one of two things happens. Either he walks to the water bowl to clean his paws and flings water and litter all over the floor or he walks on every horizontal surface he can find leaving little litter prints everywhere. Of course this includes the toilet, sink, floor, and tub. We have been in the apartment 12 hours and I have already had to clean BOTH bathrooms. Things should be getting back to normal soon though. The water bowl is back in the kitchen and his feet are not wet any more so the litter cling problem should be over.

In other news, we are alone now. Both dads left early this morning to get on the road by 6. We had to say our good-byes last night. We are really going to miss everyone back in Florida (we are trying to break the habit of calling Gainesville home, it's not home anymore-Charlotte is). I also had the realization last night that as dad-Wilson and dad-Renner drive away, our safety net is leaving us at probably a little over 80 mph. We have always had people to call in emergencies for help or to borrow tools or for a jump start. We don't have that now. Our only safety net now is reliance on God's provision. Something we need to work on most definitely.

I don't have any photos of the apartment yet. I will take some later today and post them for you. Keep watching the blog and I will update you on what's going on this week. This week will be busy for us even though it is an off week. Today we have to get our bearings and drop the car off for some much needed service, tomorrow we start looking at houses in the morning, and Friday we have Krista's first OB doctor appointment. I report to work on Monday morning at 8:30 am. Oh, and one final thing: Final degree certification status has been released and Krista and I have both officially graduated from UF with our Ph.D.'s. There were no last minute surprises even though I thought there might be.
