The big day (well the first one anyway)

Good morning. It's 7:04am and I am printing my dissertation. Well my First Submission version anyway. I worked through the night and finished chapter 4. I actually think it turned out better than any other chapter I've written so far. If the others can come up to the quality of this one, my dissertation will be bullet-proof. Not really, paper is not good at stopping bullets according to Mythbusters, but you get the idea. For those of you wondering, writing over night is not the result of procrastination. I work better (and much faster) at night when the world is asleep (the dark side anyway) and the house is quiet. I started around 10:30pm with 6 pages. I finished around 5:00am with close to 30 pages in chapter 4. Now most of that is pictures, but there is still a lot of text there as well. I then spent 1.5 hours formatting, correcting, and converting my document to a pdf. Now I'm printing. I probably will be for the next 20-30 minutes. I'm not worried about first submission. My dissertation looks much more impressive than I thought it would. It is almost graduatable. I'll give you another update tonight as to how things went. Krista's is about ready for final submission. She's going to attempt to get the final signature today. Hopefully she can get that taken care of. My schedule for the rest of the week looks like this: sleep between 5am and noon. Eat and take care of business (email, odd jobs and tasks related to writing). Start writing in the afternoon sometime and keep writing until I have to stop for sleep. If I can get 3 or 4 days like tonight I might be able to have a rough draft of my ENTIRE dissertation by the weekend. If so, I will have plenty of time to raise the level of quality in my poorer chapters. I'm excited. It's moving really fast right now.
