Pray for Sophie

Everyone, please pray for Sophie. For those who don't know, she's been sick and has lost alot of weight lately. She won't eat. Right now she is staying at Ocala Vet so Dr. Osborne can keep an eye on her. Right now we're not really sure what is wrong with her, but it may be Coronavirus or FIP. Corona is a fairly common virus in cats, and usually just causes upper respiratory issues, diarrhea, and loss of appetite, and then goes away after awhile. It appears that this has been going around our house lately as all the cats have been passing it around. Sometimes, however, the virus mutates and results in FIP, which is a very bad disease in cats. Basically they all die. There are some key signs of FIP that Sophie does not have, but since it is taking her a long time to get better we are worried. It may just be that since she is older it is taking her longer to kick the bug. If she doesn't start eating soon we're going to have take her for an ultrasound to check for lesions or abscesses in her abdomen. These would be signs of FIP. We are very worried about her, especially after what happened to Amelia (see posts from Sept 2005). Please pray for Sophie and pray that she gets to come home because we love her very very much.
