Saturday Sunrise
This post contains pictures from our trip to the beach (Bonita Beach) with Krista's family. The first couple are from the night before. The bulk of these pictures, however, are of the sunrise on Saturday morning. I went down to the boat slips with Krista's dad around 6:30am and while he fished for black drum, I went for pictures of the impending sunrise.
This next batch has more pictures from the same morning. While I was sitting out there, I even got to see a manatee. It swam right up and took a breath in front of the camera while it was on a tripod. A few seconds earlier or later and I wouldn't have been able to get a picture of it. I'm also convinced that I saw a manatee (maybe the same one) in the ocean swimming along the beach earlier that morning. It was dark for the first pass, but I was trying to take some lightning pictures of an early morning storm when I heard something take a breath about 40 feet off the beach. It didn't sound like a dolphin and was headed towards the inlet (about 1/4 mile away). An hour later, I heard the same sound heading back out of the inlet when I was set up on the docks for pictures. I think it was a manatee in the ocean. If so, I'm very happy as they are rarely seen in the sea. Not only that, but I think it was the same one. I named him George.
