As Requested...

This is the famed Gator Pumpkin from the other night at Whitney's. According to one of my friends, "It looks almost real!" Well, I have news for you. It is real and Casey is my witness (Micah, Whitney, Krista, and Braveheart too). I did not use a stencil. We found a picture online of a stenciled pumpkin and I made my own version while looking at the picture. It was drawn with a sharpie and then carved with a sharp knife. I did not cut all the way through the pumpkin. I just removed the skin where I needed to and prepared the trenches so that they have flat bottoms and were relatively uniform in depth. Then I thinned the inside of the pumpkin with a spoon until I got the look I wanted (brightness). I then put a small 60W bulb inside.
