Elijah Died

Our male bird, Elijah, died about a week ago. We are not sure what happened. We came home from church and he was dead on the floor of the cage. After doing some research, it seems that these birds can die suddenly for a number of reasons. He had not shown any signs of distress and was behaving normally the day before. The good news is that we still had his most recent babies (juveniles at the time) and one of them was a male. This was important to us because the males are brighter in color and they sing. Soon we will be building a flight aviary and getting some more birds. They are a lot of fun and the cats love them.
